Teeth in a Day Procedure
Dallas & Ft. Worth
Tooth replacement procedures have come a long way in recent years, largely thanks to dental implants. A dental implant is a small titanium screw that serves as the root component of a prosthetic tooth. A series of implants can be used to support a fixed bridge or full-arch restoration, like a denture or overdenture. At ARCHPOINT we offer a revolutionary new procedure known as Teeth in a Day.
Teeth in a Day Concept
As the name suggests, the Teeth in a Day procedures gives you a brand new set of teeth in just a single appointment. The procedure is relatively straightforward. We begin by administering local anesthetic to numb your mouth and eliminate any potential discomfort. Next, ARCHPOINT Implant Dentistry will make several incisions in the gum tissue to expose the underlying bone. The number of incisions is dictated by the number of implants. Most full-arch restorations require four to eight implants per arch.
Once we expose the underlying bone, we will drill a small hole for each implant. This allows us to deeply embed each implant screw. After the screws are in place, we will attach an abutment, or support structure, to each implant screw. The abutment keeps your restoration attached to the implant.
When your surgery is complete, we will immediately load your restoration. You will leave our office with a bright, beautiful new smile the same day as your surgery. For the next several months, you will undergo a brief healing period and the process of osseointegration. During osseointegration, the bone and the implants fuse to form a powerful bond. This bond mimics the relationship between your natural tooth and the jawbone.
Your immediate restoration is generally considered temporary. Once the process of osseointegration is complete, we may fabricate a more permanent restoration. Most permanent restorations are fabricated using porcelain or zirconia. These ceramic compounds are both esthetically-pleasing and functional. Ceramic possesses the same light-reflective properties as natural enamel.
Benefits of Teeth in a Day
The biggest and most obvious benefit of Teeth in a Day is immediate results. The results are also natural-looking and highly functional. Thanks to osseointegration, the implants become a part of your jaw. This leads to improvements in comfort, durability, and security over more traditional restorations like dentures. Even with adhesives, daily activities like chewing and speaking with dentures can cause embarrassing slips. With your Teeth in a Day restoration, you can enjoy an unrestricted diet with confidence and comfort.
Teeth in a Day is also better for your oral health in the long term. The dental implants will keep your jawbone healthy and strong. Dentures, on the other hand, need to be repaired, relined, or replaced every five to seven years due to bone and soft tissue deterioration. If you currently use dentures or need a full-arch restoration, you could significantly benefit from Teeth in a Day!
